I had a chance to take this morning off to go fishing and I took it! The Kokanee at Merwin Lake were biting this morning, so my mortgage lender, Stephen Bowdon, and I took a "Sick Day" in order to catch a few. The weather was great, the fish were biting, and we both caught our limits in about 2 hours. Looks like we are have Kokanee fillets for dinner!

What are Kokanee?
Jane - Kokanee is a word from the Okanagan language referring to land-locked lake populations of Sockeye salmon. This early in the season they are about the size of a large trout. The meat is bright red and the flavor is is like a light version of salmon.
Oh, I do love to catch Kokanee, they are so taste and they do put up a fight that trout don't.

I don't know how to fish, but cleary it's obvious you have the skills. That is some good eatin!
